My name is Georgi Shishkov. I was born on the 21st of August in 1950 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. I started to paint seriously when I finished my educational education -- I'm a painting teacher at the High School. My big love for the Sea oriented me to the marine landscapes and when I got to know the creativity of the great Russian artist I.K. Aivazovski and Bulgarian marinist Al Mutaffov, I turned completely to the marine landscapes.

		Even though I'm a marinist, over the years I was interested in doing research and study and collect information about big artists like Shishkin, Repin, Brullov and others from Russian school and also for Leonardo, Rubens, Michaelangelo, Rembrand, Salvador Dali and other big masters. Since 1973 until now I've painted almost 650 pictures. I'm a member of the Society of the Painters in Kardjali, Bulgaria, where I live and work for more than 20 years. I have participated in many exhibitions in Bulgaria, including national exhibitions in Sofia, Plovdiv and Burgas. There are many paintings that I have done in galleries in Bulgaria and in private collections. Also, there are my paintings outside of the country bought by collectors in Spain, Germany, France, Turkey, Kuwait, USA,Canada and Israel. Very often I make pictures by order of my clients. I paint basically with canvas and oil. My pictures are in realistic style with romantic shade. I draw the Sea in its different states, but my favourite theme is the stormy and violent Sea. I often visit towns and villages that are by the Black Sea and I make a lot of photos and pictures of the Sea. Except for the Sea I also love to paint the Nature in it's different seasons and the Forest landscapes. Lately it's been an enormous pleasure for me and a challenge to paint a picture with a biblical theme. Because I pay too much attention on the details sometimes I may work over a painting for 15-20 days.
